So now the day has come that we learn about fall sports here in the mountain state. We have waited for this day since the cancellation of sports back in March. Now that the decision has been made by the governor and the WVSSAC this is going to be a very interesting fall. With everyone in West Virginia on the edge of their seat for the last few months waiting to see what happens with fall sports today it has happened.
Now that the announcement has been made let us look at what was said. Bernie Dolin the director of the WVSSAC made the announcement today during Jim Justices press conference. He stated during the conference that they will continue to play out the three-week period and will also start practice for fall sports starting on Aug 17th which is the target date. Now yes that seems like a positive outlook currently but lets just think back to the spring.
Once the girls’ basketball tournament was shut down in Charleston back in March, we heard the same things that we have heard today. If we can go back it will be this day, and it seems like the same scenario now as it was then. We are staying positive during these times about fall sports but the news today is not helping.
We will continue to update you all when we have more information.
