After a huge freshman season last year Clark is now leaving Capital high school and taking his talents to Belfry High School in Kentucky. Speaking with Clark today he informed me he will be leaving the mountain state and heading for the Bluegrass state. When asked why he was leaving Clark responded," due to Covid-19 and Grandmother who I live with wants to get away and do whats best for me" Clark was one of if not the top Freshman boys basketball players in the entire state of WV last season.
Clark looks to make an instant impact for the Belfry Pirates bringing his 14 points per game and 5 assists. Freshman of the year looks to only improve from a fantastic freshman campaign. Capital will look to fill this void left by Clark.
Will this be the last we see of WV kids transferring to surrounding states to be able to play this season? My answer would be probably not the last of hearing about kids transferring out of WV to play winter sports. With the most recent map seeing 40+ counties in the red what will be the next move for winter sports here in the mountain state.
