It may be the off season, but that makes no difference to Woodrow standout Josie Cross. Josie is always working on her game and is always becoming a better player. She was a key piece a season ago to the lady eagles run to a state tournament appearance.
We were able to catch up with the standout guard a couple days ago and talk with her about the off season and what this season will hold for Woodrow. When people talk about off season work and working hard this young lady's name will always be mentioned, when we asked what has she been focusing on this offseason her response was," my outside shooting and three pointers" when you look at this young lady's game there are not to many question marks, but outside shooting was one and she has taken that away and has come more deadly from outside.
When you look at last years roster for Woodrow and compare it to this years team "you see a lot of youth for this upcoming season" says Cross. Youth on a roster isn't always a bad thing, according to Josie this team is eager and ready to learn. When asked about what she is looking forward to most this season she told us," just competing and helping my team become successful."
A phrase commonly used has been hard work and determination when talking about this Woodrow team. When you look at this team from the top to bottom you see nothing but hard work. This team has a chance to make a deep run this postseason, and surprise a lot of teams.
If you ever wonder what Josie has in her headphones pre game it is one of two things, and probably not what you think. It will be either Taylor Swift or Rod Wave, and we know what your thinking two different styles but hey what ever gets you ready.
You better know this name as the season approaches because she is ready to become a household name this winter.
