Last but certainly not least we will talk about class A players to watch. A lot of talented girls in class A and not talked about much in the media across the state. We will be giving you a few names to keep an eye out for this postseason.
First we start with Webster County Sophomore guard Sydney Baird. Sydney can do it all for Webster and has proven that this season while averaging over 30 points a game. She is just 8 points away from passing 1,000 points all time and she is just a sophomore. She is a knock down shooter and has a great basketball IQ. A player to keep an eye on for the next few seasons.
Next we head to Tucker County where we talk about another sophomore and that is Kadie Kolebank. Kadie has been torching it this season averaging a double double so far this season. A very tough forward who is ready to help Tucker County make a deep run this postseason. She has been a name that is flying under the radar this season and is ready to become a household name. Kadie can finish at the rim and is also a very good rim protector on the other end of the floor.
Another underclassman is Tug Valley junior Kaylea Baisden. She has been an important piece helping Tug finish the regular season with 10 wins and just 2 losses and only one loss in the state of WV. Kaylea is averaging around 22 points per game this season helping Tug Valley finish ranked 3rd in Class A. Kaylea is a very smart guard and can attack the basket or she can step back and knock down a jumpshot either way a very dangerous player when the ball is in her hands.
Next we head to Calhoun County and talk about Junior Josie Montgomery. Josie has helped Calhoun finish this season with a 10 and 3 regular season record and a ranking of 6th in class A. Josie will be a key piece if Calhoun is wanting to make a deep run to Charleston. She is a very tough player who can score from just about anywhere and is going to make you work for it on the defensive end of the floor. Get to know this name this postseason.
Last but not least we have another Sophomore in Abby McDonough from Doddridge County. Another very solid forward in the state that doesn't get enough attention. Abby is relentless finishing around the rim and is a premier defensive player in all of WV. Abby is a player who will be known statewide and is helping Doddridge make a postseason run.
